Nowadays, Brook and Wilde is an established brand and they have become quite popular by offering affordable made-to-order mattresses. In this Brook and Wilde Lux mattress review, I will talk about their most affordable option and whether it’s one you should consider.
The company was founded in 2018 and they manufacture everything here in the UK. Their range includes 5 options, including the Brook and Wilde Elite mattress. Some of their mattresses are rolled ones, just like the one I talk about here. My mattress came almost a month ago so it’s about time now I write this review.
Materials & Construction
The Brook and Wilde Lux mattress has a straightforward construction and it’s made of a total of 4 layers. These are:
- A layer made of premium-grade foam. They feature the S-Wave technology that can complement your anatomy.
- A second comfort layer that is designed to optimise spinal alignment.
- A layer made of pocket springs layer (1,000) that is the main source of support.
- A support foam layer which keeps the whole thing together. This is the base of the mattress.
This mattress measures 26cm in height and below, we can see the position of every layer.
Cover
The cover of this mattress features a dual-tone design. The top part is white with a visual pattern and the bottom part is navy. The two parts are separated by an orange line. It’s a clean and simple design that is pleasant to the eye. The cover is very breathable and seems quite durable. It’s also hypoallergenic so anyone with an allergy can feel safe sleeping on this mattress. On the sides, they have placed 4 handles so you can move it with ease which is good practical thinking.
The cover feels soft and in general, I liked it. It’s not the best one I have seen but it’s a good quality one. Unfortunately, it’s not machine washable so you have to spot clean it whenever this is needed. Overall, I think they did a good job here.
Comfort & Support
It’s time now to continue with this Brook and Wilde Lux mattress review and talk about its feel. This is a medium-soft mattress and if I put this on my virtual scale, I would say it’s a 5 with 10 being really firm. I want to talk now about my experience with it during the past month.
Starting from the back position, I instantly felt the comfort foam layer doing its work. This is not very usual for a hybrid mattress and I personally liked it. The mattress moulded around my shoulders and it was a very comfortable feeling. I also felt that my spine was properly aligned which is quite important.
Moving to the side position, the mattress adapted quickly. Sinkage increased and that helped my spine to have a correct alignment. Support was good and I didn’t feel any discomfort on my hips.
Finally, moving to the stomach position, the mattress adapted quickly again. I felt that the mattress had some bounce which is something I expected. My hips were positioned correctly and my whole body was in good form. As a result, I felt that this mattress would suit every sleeping position.
The mattress is very well-built so unsurprisingly the edge support was also good. Motion transfer exists even if the upper foam layer is designed to eliminate it. However, I didn’t think it was too much so your sleeping partner won’t bother you during the night.
Service
I have already mentioned that the Brook and Wilde Lux mattress is a rolled one which means that it comes packed in a carton box.
There is no charge for delivery so this is great news. After you place your order, the mattress will be delivered within 4 weeks. One of the best things about them is that they have a 2-man delivery service. This is so useful for someone like me who struggles to carry the box around. The couriers arrived on time and they placed the box to the room of my choice.
Communication was also great. They contacted me one day prior to the delivery but also on the day to let me know the exact time I should expect them. Overall, I think that they offer the best service you can get and I was really happy with my whole experience.
Trial Period & Guarantee
The Brook and Wilde mattress comes with a 200-night trial period which is pretty common these days. This is a great feature as you can test and see whether you like this mattress or not. If you are not happy with it, you can return your mattress and get a full refund. They will arrange everything for you so no need to worry about the logistics. To make a return, you don’t have to keep the original packaging so you can get rid of it once you have unpacked the mattress.
You will also get a 10-year guarantee which is another great feature of this mattress. Make sure you read the T&Cs carefully so you know what you are getting. Overall, Brook and Wilde offer a fantastic package here, so no complaints at all.

Firstly, the service and support are probably the best you can get. Secondly, the mattress is suited for all sleeping positions. Lastly, it’s a good-quality hybrid mattress that is very well-built.
