REM-Fit is an American brand that has seen great success in the UK. They launched a few years back and they have an extended range of mattresses which includes 7 options. In this REM-Fit 600 mattress review, I will talk about this interesting proposition and whether is one you should consider.
After reviewing the REM-Fit 500 mattress, I was really keen to try the REM-Fit 600 which comes with a softer feel. Just like the 500, this is another hybrid mattress that combines memory foam with pocket springs. All REM-Fit mattresses are delivered directly to your doorstep inside carton boxes. I got mine almost two weeks ago so it’s time now to move to the full review below.
Materials & Construction
The REM-Fit 600 features a total of 4 layers plus the cover. In detail, these are:
- An open-cell memory foam layer that is designed to keep the sleeping surface cool during sleep. REM-Fit has added zone-cuts which reduce pressure from the bonier areas of your body and provide it with the needed pressure relief.
- A comfort foam layer that prolongs the life of this mattress and adds extra comfort.
- A dual spring layer that is made of 4,000 pocket springs (15cm high). This layer has the ability to adjust to your body’s shape and provide it with the needed support.
- High-density foam walls that radically improve edge support.
The mattress has a medium profile and it measures 25cm in height. The picture below shows the position of each layer.
Cover
The cover of the REM-Fit 600 mattress is a very breathable one. To achieve that, they used Re-Ax fibres, a technology developed by them. This type of fibre has temperature-regulating properties that help you have a more comfortable sleep. The cover feels soft but strong at the same time and I think it’s a high-quality one.
If you want to clean it, you can remove it and machine-wash it at 40 degrees. This makes it very easy to maintain. The design of the cover is a nice one featuring a two-tone colourway. The top part is white and the bottom part is dark grey. The two colours are separated by an orange line. Overall, I think that REM-Fit did a good job here and the cover is a really nice one.
Comfort & Support
It’s time to continue writing this REM-Fit 600 mattress review and discuss its feel. This mattress is designed for the average sleeper so it comes with a medium-firm feel. If I use my virtual scale here, I would say this is a 6.8 with 10 being really firm. I would like now to talk about my experience with it in the past two weeks.
Starting from the back position, the memory foam layer instantly hugged my hips and shoulders. The springs supported my body and I experienced this ‘cloud feeling’ they advertised. It was really comfortable in this position, especially for someone with my body weight (10 stones).
Turning to the side position, the springs adjusted quickly and sinkage increased. This allowed my spine to align properly and I felt that the mattress was supportive. Pressure relief was adequate and I felt that the mattress did a decent job in this position.
Finally, moving to the stomach position, the mattress did a good job handling my weight and my hips and shoulder were well supported. Pressure relief was great and I felt that my spine was aligned correctly. Overall, this is a good all-rounder that will suit every position.
If you share your bed with a partner, the REM-Fit 600 would be a good choice. The springs used here are specifically designed to eliminate motion transfer and they do a great job at it. That means you can forget the annoying partner disturbance during the night. As for the edge support, the pocket springs and the foam-encapsulated sidewalls do a fantastic job so you will get the same performance across the four corners.
Service
It’s already mentioned above that the REM-Fit 600 is a ‘mattress in a box’ so it will be delivered directly to your door. When you buy yours, you will get a free delivery service which is great. Besides that, they also offer a number of options so you will definitely find the one that suits your needs. For example, for an extra £29, you can have your old mattress removed.
They deliver the mattresses within 1-3 working days and in my case, it was only two. The couriers were polite and I was informed about every step of the process. Overall, I had a great experience with them and REM-Fit did a great job here.
Trial Period & Guarantee
Every REM-Fit mattress comes with a 15-year guarantee which is one of the longest on the market. Most makers usually offer a 10-year guarantee so REM-Fit has the advantage here. Besides that, you will also get a 100-night trial period which gives you plenty of time to decide whether you want to keep this or not.
If for any reason, you are not happy with your purchase, you can return your mattress and get your money back. The process is not complicated and all you have to do is contact their customer service department. I have to state here that all returned mattresses are donated to the British Heart Foundation. This is a great gesture by REM-Fit and they show how much they care about the community. Overall, they offer a complete package here so no complaints at all.
Rem-Fit 600 Mattress Review – The Verdict
It’s time now to complete this REM-Fit 600 mattress review and share my final thoughts with you. Overall, it’s a great mattress that is well-balanced and performs well in all sleeping positions. It’s designed for those who look for comfort and seek a medium-firm feel. It’s also good for couples that look for a hybrid mattress with minimal motion transfer.
