Emma is an innovative brand and they have recently released an exciting product. In this Emma Hybrid Airgrid mattress review, I will talk about this unique proposition that is designed for sleepers who are looking for excellent pressure relief and an efficient cooling mechanism.
As you know, I am a huge fan of the Emma Hybrid Premium mattress, so naturally, I was very curious to get my hands on this new release. Both mattresses follow the same design philosophy but they behave differently. My Hybrid Airgrid mattress was delivered around ten days ago so it’s time to move to the full review below.
Materials & Construction
The Hybrid Airgrid mattress is made of 5 layers plus the cover. In detail, these are:
- An AirGrid layer that gives you a ‘floating’ feeling when you sleep. It has a quick bounce so you will never feel heavy.
- A MemoryAdapt foam layer that can distribute your weight evenly.
- A low-density foam that can cradle your body for extra comfort.
- A SupportBase foam layer that prevents sinking.
- A layer made of Infinity Springs that stabilizes your spine during sleep. They are also designed to prolong the life of your mattress.
This one measures 27cm in height and the image below gives us a better look at how it looks from the inside.

Cover
The cover of this mattress is made of UltraDry fabric. This makes it quite breathable and in combination with the tall pocket springs, airflow will be abundant. The good news is that this cover is removable and you can machine-wash it at a low temperature. The design is a beautiful one featuring a textured white top and grey sides. For the Hybrid Airgrid mattress, the people at Emma chose a yellow line to separate the cover into two parts.
Another strength of this cover is the four handles that can be found on the sides. These can help you rotate it with more ease and it’s a nice practical addition. At the bottom, there is an anti-slip base that can keep this mattress in place. Overall, this is a well-designed cover that has all the right specs.
Comfort & Support
I want to continue writing this Emma Hybrid Airgrid mattress review and talk about its feel. This is a mattress designed for comfort seekers so it comes with a medium feel. This separates it from the majority of boxed mattresses that come with a medium-firm feel. If I use my virtual scale here, I would say it’s a 5 with 10 being really firm. Let’s talk now about my experience with it during the past ten days.

Lying on my back the mattress felt extremely comfortable and I did feel I was floating, exactly as they advertised it. Support was great and there were no pressure points on my back.
Turning to the side position, the springs adjusted quickly and that helped my spine to align correctly. Being a medium mattress, it didn’t cause any discomfort to the hip and shoulder areas.
Finally, moving to the stomach position, the sleeping surface wasn’t as firm as I would have liked. The mattress remained supportive but I felt that a firmer mattress would do a better job in this position. As a result, I would say that this mattress is better suited to side and back sleepers.
One of the main strengths of the Hybrid Airgrid mattress is minimal motion transfer. That makes it ideal for couples. Additionally, the edge support is good so you will get in and out of bed with ease.
Service
Emma became very successful by offering great service and support. If you decide to buy a mattress from them, you will get a free delivery, provided of course you live in a UK postcode. They offer a relatively fast service that usually takes between 2-5 working days. The mattress will be shipped inside a carton box and will be delivered to your doorstep.
In my case, it only took 3 working days and the box arrived in excellent condition. Some other mattresses that I have purchased came in dirty and squashed boxes so this definitely made a good impression to me. Communication was excellent and the courier arrived according to the time slot I was given. Overall, the experience was smooth and I have no issues to report.

Trial Period & Guarantee
Buying a mattress online can feel a bit risky for some people. For this reason, Emma offers a 200-night trial period that allows you to try it at home. This way, you will be able to understand whether this is a good option for you or not. If for any reason, you are not happy with this mattress, you have the right to return it and get your money back. The process is not complicated and the people at Emma will guide you through this.
Besides that, all their mattresses come with a 10-year guarantee which is the standard for most boxed mattresses. Their guarantee page has all the details regarding their policy and this is something you should read before you buy one of their mattresses. Overall, they offer a complete package here that won’t disappoint.
