Cover
The cover of this mattress is made with a blend of organic soft and cotton. This has a number of properties that make it ideal to use for a cover. Firstly, both cotton and wool are quite breathable so the sleeping surface will stay cool during the night. Secondly, wool is a natural fire retardant which improves the safety of this mattress. Lastly, both fabrics feel soft and cosy so you will get a comfortable sleep. The design is quite ‘bland’ but this is expected from such a mattress as they didn’t want to add any extra chemicals or dye. For me, that’s ok as this serves its purpose.
Comfort & Support
It’s time now to continue writing this Una Mattress Delux review and talk about its feel. As I have mentioned earlier, this mattress has an adjustable feel that actually gives you 6 different firmness options. All you have to do is interchange the inserts until you find the right firmness profile. I like medium-firm mattresses so for the purpose of this review, I chose this setup.
Lying on my back, the mattress showed excellent pressure-relieving properties which is something I expected from a latex mattress. Additionally, support was great and it was very pleasant sleeping this way.
Turning to the side, the latex layers adjusted and sinkage increased. There was no pain or discomfort in the hip area and my spinal alignment was neutral.
Finally, turning to the stomach position, the Delux mattress impressed me. It performed quite well which is something I didn’t expect. Support was great and overall, I can say that this is a true all-rounder.
If you share your bed with a partner, the Una Delux has minimal motion transfer as it lacks springs. Having said that, the edge support is average but this is expected from a modular mattress. If this is a deal breaker for you, the Origin Hybrid Pro mattress can be a good alternative.
Service
One of the main weaknesses of this mattress is the slow delivery. If you decide to order one, you will have to wait anywhere between 14-20 working days. The good news is that they offer a free service so you won’t have to pay anything. Unlike most mattresses I have reviewed, the Una Delux will be delivered inside 2-3 carton boxes. That of course depends on the size you will be getting. All Una mattresses are delivered via DPD and you will be able to track your package every step of the way.
In my case, it was a straightforward process and the DPD courier was prompt and polite. The boxes weren’t too heavy and I was able to carry them to my room. Having said that, some people might not be able to move them by themselves so make sure you have some help around. Overall, I was happy with their service except the slow delivery times.
