A good pillow is very important to achieve good sleep and sometimes it can be hard to find the right one. In this OTTY adjustable pillow review, I will explore this new entry which has an interesting design.
OTTY are mostly known for their hybrid mattress, but they also make pillows. They offer free next day delivery and a 30-night trial period. This is amazing, especially for a pillow, and it’s something I don’t see frequently. Mine arrived about a week ago so it’s a good time now to write this review.
MATERIALS & CONSTRUCTION
This pillow was designed to be very versatile and to achieve that they used a different approach. Instead of having bigger foam pieces, they used memory foam fillings which are removable. This allows you to change the height, plumpness and firmness of the pillow according to your taste and needs. You will also receive 2 zippable pouches which are used to store the fillings. The image below shows how the pillow works. The fact they used fillings, makes the core of the pillow very breathable which is great, especially during the hotter months of the year. In general, I did like their design approach and the pillow is made with high-quality materials.
PILLOW COVER
To make the cover of the OTTY adjustable pillow, they used a down-like breathable material which looks great. It’s quite early obviously but it seems that this fabric will last long. At the same time it feels relatively soft. The design of the cover is also a very nice one. The two white panels are separated by a dark grey line and the result looks very contemporary and modern. If you want to clean it, you can remove it and machine was it at 40 degrees. This is great as I personally like to freshen up my bedding. Finally, the fabric they used to make the cover is quite breathable and I did feel that the pillow sleeps cool which is something I really want, especially with summer coming.
COMFORT & SUPPORT
The height of the pillow is probably the most important factor that determines how good a pillow can be for the different sleeping positions. This is exactly what the OTTY designers had in mind when they were developing this adjustable pillow.
You can choose the setup according to what you like and me being a back sleeper and a small person I went for a medium loft setup. The pillow was quite comfortable in all positions and in general, I felt it was quite supportive. The difference compared to the standard memory foam pillows is the fact that this one offers less pressure relief. So what you gain in comfort and versatility you kind of lose in pressure relief. This is expected as bigger foam pieces can do a better job on this end. Having said that, I was really impressed with how comfortable and supportive this pillow is so maybe this is a tradeoff I can accept. As always, it’s what you look for in life.
VERDICT
Completing this OTTY adjustable pillow review, I must say I genuinely liked what they did with it. A clever design that is executed properly packed with amazing service, especially for a pillow. The not so great pressure relief can be a problem for many but the fact that this pillow gives you so much flexibility, it’s something that definitely worths the fair price selling for £84.99. If you look for a very comfortable memory foam pillow then this can be a good option for you.
