Simba is one of my favourite mattress brands as they have developed an extensive range that have options for every need. In this Simba Ultra mattress review, I will talk about one of their best mattresses and whether it’s an option you should consider.
This mattress sits at the top of their range and features an impressive construction. It’s slightly better than the Simba Luxe mattress but is it worth the extra money? We will find out soon in the full review below.
Materials & Construction
This mattress features a complicated design and it’s made with 8 layers. In detail, these are:
- A FusionCool layer which is a blend of wool, bamboo, charcoal and kapok. This improves breathability and freshness.
- A double layer of Simbatex foam that adds elasticity and cushioning.
- A PureLift layer which is made of latex and coconut. This adds spring-like support and elasticity.
- A double layer of Aerocoil springs. These form thirteen zones for tailored support.
- A stabilising core foam layer that adds structural support.
- An Aerocoil spring layer for extra support.
- A SupportCore sprung base that improves edge support.
- A foam base layer that adds stability and support.
This mattress measures 34cm in height so you should expect a high profile. I must say that you will definitely need new sheets as most mattresses measure between 25-30cm in height. The image below gives us a better look at its architecture.

Cover
The cover of this mattress is one of the main improvements when compared to the Luxe mattress. It features the Stratos technology that has amazing thermo-regulating properties. It actually uses phase change technology that will keep you cool all night long. The top part is removable and machine-washable. All you have to do is unzip it and pop it inside your washing machine.
The design is the typical Simba one and the mattress has a modern look. On the sides, you will find handles that will help you move this mattress. These are super useful as this is quite a heavy mattress. Overall, the quality is fantastic here and it’s definitely one of the best covers I have seen.

Comfort & Support
I want to continue writing this Simba Ultra mattress review and talk about its feel. This is a medium-firm mattress that has a good balance between comfort and support. If I use my virtual scale here, I would say it’s a 6.6 with 10 being really firm. I want to talk now about my experience with it during the past 10 days.

Lying on my back, the mattress felt extremely comfortable and I felt that I was sleeping on a cloud. Support was great and there was no pressure point on my back or hips.
Turning to the side position, the Ultra mattress did a fantastic job with my spine which had a neutral alignment. Support remained adequate and it was comfortable sleeping this way.
Finally, turning to the stomach position, the mattress supported my weight and this helped my spine to align correctly. I enjoyed sleeping this way and overall, this is a true all-rounder.
The Ultra mattress features a sprung base that is designed to improve edge support. That means you will get in and out of bed with ease. Additionally, for those sleeping with a partner, the mini springs can eliminate motion transfer so you won’t disturb each other.
Service
A premium mattress like this one couldn’t come with an average service. When you order one, you will get a free next-day delivery so you will have your mattress in no time. For an extra £10, you can choose a 4-hour time slot that suits your schedule. But that’s not it! A VIP service is available that includes old mattress removal and set up at the room of choice. This will cost you an extra £50 but in my opinion, it’s worth every penny.
I didn’t have a mattress to recycle so I just paid the £10 to have my mattress delivered in the afternoon. The courier was prompt and polite and the process was straightforward. The mattress is very heavy so you won’t be able to move it by yourselves. I had to wait for my brother to return and we then placed it in my second bedroom. Overall, I had great service from Simba so no complaints at all.

Trial Period & Guarantee
If you decide to buy this mattress, you should expect a 200-night trial period that allows you to try it at home. This essentially gives you more than 6 months so you have plenty of time to decide whether you want to keep it or not. Simba will refund you the full amount if you are not happy with this mattress. The process isn’t complicated and their customer reps will help you out.
Moreover, all Simba mattresses come with a 10-year guarantee. This is what most makers offer these days and I was hoping that Simba could offer a longer one here as this is a truly premium mattress. However, a decade is not a short period so this is not a big thing. Overall, this is a complete package here that won’t disappoint.
Simba Ultra Mattress Review – The Verdict

This is arguably one of the best mattresses that I have tried and I don’t think it has a major flaw. It’s comfortable, supportive and sleeps cool. It’s also built with excellent materials and comes with great service and support. For all these reasons, this is a fantastic choice so if you have the budget for it, definitely consider it!
