If I use my virtual scale here, I would say that the softer side is an 8/10 and the firmer side is a 9/10. I remind you that 1 is really soft and 10 is really firm.
I used both sides and I didn’t feel that the difference was big. However, this is a proper firm mattress so you should be aware of it. It’s very supportive on either side and it will definitely help with your bad back. Despite being an extra firm mattress, I didn’t feel any discomfort on my back or side.
