REM-Fit is an American brand and it’s famous for its innovative products. It was founded back in 2011 and since then, they have seen great success in the US. In this REM-Fit 500 mattress review, I will talk about their most popular product and whether it’s an option you should consider.
This is a hybrid mattress that combines memory foam with pocket springs. As you expect, it’s another boxed mattress so it will be delivered directly to your door. What separates it from the competition is the fact that this mattress has a firm feel but more on that later. My REM-Fit 500 arrived three weeks ago so it’s a good time now to write this review.
Materials & Construction
The REM-Fit 500 mattress is made of 3 layers plus the cover. In detail, these are:
- An open-cell memory foam layer that is designed to sleep cool. It features zone cuts that can provide your body with tailored support and pressure relief.
- A comfort foam layer that will ensure the sleeping surface will stay flat, year after year.
- A layer which consists of 2,000 tall(15cm) pocket springs. These will provide your body with the needed support.
Other than the 3 layers, they have also added foam-encapsulated sidewalls which help the mattress have better edge support. The image below showcases how each layer is positioned.
Cover
The cover of the REM-Fit 500 is made of Re-Ax thermos-regulating fibres that are developed by their in-house innovation team. This type of material is designed to allow airflow and keep the mattress cool during the night. The cover can regulate your body’s temperature so you can get a more comfortable sleep. It features a modern design that comes with a white top part and a grey bottom part with petrol details. The cover feels soft but it’s quite durable. If you want to clean it, you can machine-wash it at 40 degrees which is great. Unfortunately, there are no side handles here so it can be quite difficult to move it. Other than that, I cannot find any issue here and overall, it’s a high-quality cover that I like.
Comfort & Support
It’s time to continue with this REM-Fit 500 mattress review and talk about its firmness. Most boxed mattresses have a medium-firm feel but this one is different. It’s designed for sleepers who suffer from chronic back pain so it has a firm feel. If I use my virtual scale here, I would say it’s an 8 with 10 being really firm. It’s time now to talk about my experience with it in the pas three weeks.
Starting from the back position, the mattress felt firm at the beginning but after a few seconds, I got used to it. Support was great and I felt that my spine was in good form. Pressure relief was adequate and overall I felt that the mattress did well.
Turning to the side position, the pocket springs reacted quickly and sinkage increased. My hips were in a good position to allow a correct spine alignment. Support was adequate and I felt it was comfortable in this position.
Finally, moving to the stomach position, the mattress did an amazing job. My hips were in the right position to allow my spine to align properly. I actually felt that the mattress was designed for stomach sleepers. Pressure relief was good and I think that this mattress is a true all-rounder.
As for the edge support, I would say it’s excellent. The combination of springs with the foam-encapsulated sidewalls helps a lot so you will get the same performance across the four corners. Finally, if you share your bed with a partner, you should expect a bit of disturbance but nothing too much.

I have already mentioned in the intro that this is a boxed mattress. It will be delivered directly to your door in a carton box just like the one in the picture below. They offer free delivery for all sizes which is amazing! You should expect to have your mattress within 1-3 working days. For an extra £29 you can have your old mattress removed and this can be very useful. In my case, I got my mattress within 2 days and the courier was prompt and polite. The whole experience was straightforward so I can’t complain. Communication from them was great and my mattress was delivered by DPD.
