We all have heard of Eve, one of the first companies that introduced us to the ‘mattress in a box’ concept. After releasing their Original mattress and a cheaper Hybrid one, they decided to create a third one. In this Eve Premium mattress review, I will talk about their effort to create a luxury mattress that reassembles the ones we find in 5-star hotels.
Eve decided to stick to their strength so this is a memory foam mattress. I found this to be quite interesting as most premium mattresses are hybrid. It’s a very thick mattress measuring 28cm in height. Despite this, the mattress still comes packed in a box. Of course, expect a weird odour for the first few days but you should not worry as this will wear off after 2-3 days. I got my mattress around a month ago so it’s a good time now to move to the full review below.
MATERIALS & CONSTRUCTION
The Eve Premium mattress has a 4-layer construction. In detail these are:
A floatfoam layer which according to the maker creates a ‘floating’ feeling and helps with pressure relief. It’s one of their latest developments and you can only find this material in their premium range.
A graphite-infused memory foam layer which provides your body with the needed pressure relief. Graphite removes the heat from your body when it’s most needed.
A support foam layer which is firmer than the 2 foam layers above. It’s there to provide your body with the needed support.
A base foam layer which is what its name suggests, the base of this mattress. They have applied cuts on this layer to help demanding areas like your hips and shoulders.
The image below showcases how each layer is positioned.
The cover of this mattress is one of the most interesting ones I have seen. It is split into two parts. The top one is made of high-quality quilted fabric with an added silver lining. This last bit makes it antibacterial and antimicrobial. I found their thinking very interesting and I must admit this is something I have never seen before. In general, I think the cover looks really good and it does have this premium feel, Eve was aiming for.
The cover also has all these extra features that make it special like handles and anti-slip elements at the bottom. That means it will stay in place and you will also be able to move it with less effort. If you want to clean it, you can remove the top panel and machine wash it at 40°. It’s great you can do this as I personally like to keep the cover clean and fresh. The design looks good but nothing special and Eve stuck to their brand colours here. Overall, I think that this cover is very good.
COMFORT & SUPPORT
Just like most rolled mattresses, the Eve Premium has a medium-firm feel that will suit most sleepers. If I use my virtual scale, I would say this is a 3.2 with 5 being really firm. I would like now to talk about the different sleeping positions and how this mattress performed.
Starting from the back position, I felt that the mattress was really comfortable. The ‘floating feeling’ they promise was not exactly as I expected it to be but this mattress does feel a bit different compared to other memory foam mattresses. If you like the ‘hugging’ feeling maybe this one is not for you. Pressure relief was good and in general, I felt that my back was well supported.
Moving to the side position, the mattress reacted relatively quickly and sinkage increased. My spine was in good form and in general, I felt supported. The upper softer layers ensure you won’t feel any pain in the hips area and overall I felt that the Eve Premium did a good job in this position.
Finally, moving to the stomach position, I felt that the mattress was a bit softer than I would like it to be. Support was ok but I think that this mattress did a way better job in the previous two positions.
Regarding the edge support, the mattress did very well which was something I expected from such a well-built mattress. I also have to state here that this mattress is excellent for couples. The all-foam construction means that the motion transfer is minimal which makes it ideal for those who share their bed with their partners.
A premium product should come with premium service too and Eve has understood that. To be more specific, you will get free 2-man delivery when you order this mattress. That means that it will be placed in the room of your choice so you won’t have to do much. After placing my order, I received good communication regarding my delivery slot and in general, the process was very straightforward. The two couriers arrived on time and they placed the mattress in my bedroom. Delivery took 4 days for me which is not the quickest but the good service made me forget the waiting time. I am glad that Eve followed other makers and offers this type of service and I hope more companies will follow. Overall, I was really happy with the whole experience.
TRIAL PERIOD & GUARANTEE
The Eve Premium comes with a 100-night trial period which allows you to test this mattress before you decide to keep it. If you are not happy with it, you can return it for free and Eve will fully refund you. The process is not complicated and they will arrange everything for you. I need to state here that you don’t need to keep the original packaging to be able to return this mattress.
Moreover, you will also get a 10-year guarantee which shows how confident they are in their production process. Make sure you read carefully the T&Cs so you know exactly what is included in their guarantee. A great job overall by Eve so no complaints at all here.
After completing this Eve Premium mattress review, it’s time now to share my final thoughts with you. This mattress impressed me with its built quality but also comes with excellent service. It will suit mostly back and side sleepers but also anyone who shares their bed with a partner. The main drawback of this mattress is that it’s only available in 4 sizes at the moment. It’s not the cheapest one either but you get what you pay for. However, if you look for a luxury hotel-style mattress then this can be a great option for you.
